Personality in esoteric literature is defined as the collection of Physical/Etheric, emotional and lower mental natures.
If a man is considered as a system, then it can be said that he has seven bodies and personality constitutes the lower three bodies. The bodies are also known as vehicles and real You is the one who uses this vehicles.
We all know about the physical body. Etheric body is an electromagnetic field that controls the physical body. It also control the nervous, glandular and blood systems. Everything that's connected to the physical body is controlled by etheric body.
Emotional body registers the emotions of our surrounding. It responds to these, sometimes consciously and sometimes unconsciously.
Mental body is a sphere of light or darkness surrounding our head and brain. An easy analogy can be, our brain is the typewriter, You are the typist and the hand that types is your mental body.
All these three bodies are connected to each other and to higher bodies through certain electric lines.
It is said that a person who has simplicity and clarity in his mind, heart and bodies will be successful, victorious, prosperous and creative. A free man has simplicity and clarity.
Simplicity and clarity of mind implies a mind free from vanity and illusions.
Simplicity and clarity of heart, implies a heart free from vipers like anger, hatred, jealousy etc.
Simplicity at physical level implies a healthy and active physical body.
Striving for simplicity and clarity is one of the starting points on our journey towards freedom.
